QIGONG

QI = energy/life force, GONG = mastery/skill

Combining gentle, repetitive movements, there are a number of styles of Qigong taught throughout the world. The breath and movement are soft - the real magic is that it is also a moving meditation, once you get into the zone!

Angela is currently learning Yang family medicinal Qigong - the different movements and patterns are all designed to promote health in different parts of the body.

As with all Angela’s teachings, it is taught very much from a functional perspective - not focusing on alignment dogma or strict cueing, but more, finding what feels right in your body.

Breathe Better Breath Therapy

Having completed a further 35 hours of training with the Minded Institute, I am delighted to be able to offer 1 to 1 and group Breathe Braw (Braw - the Scottish word for good!) sessions.

We take 20-25,000 breaths a day, and how we breathe has a huge impact on our body, mind and soul.

I can fully assess your current breathing pattern and offer guidance through movement and specific breath practices to enable you to make the most of your breath - an in house therapeutic tool!

I also offer neuroscience tools that can help with muscular tightness, which can also helpmus to breathe better if we have fallen into unhelpful patterns and breath habits

MYOFASCIAL RELEASE & ACUPRESSURE

With its roots in Chinese medicine, these techniques work using acupressure points (think acupuncture without the needles) which are located on various energetic channels or meridian lines throughout the body.  Often this technique is part of a yin class, known as ACU yin, which combines pressure and postures to work with targeted areas of fascia.

Myofascial release balls - used for MYO yin and essential oils can be incorporated into this style of class.

Myofascial and acupressure can also be a stand alone offering.

Reiki

Reiki is a Japanese technique for stress reduction and relaxation that also promotes healing. It is based on the idea that an unseen "life force energy" flows through us and is what causes us to be alive. If one's "life force energy" is low, then we are more likely to get sick or feel stress, and if it is high, we are more capable of being happy and healthy.

The word Reiki is made of two Japanese words - Rei which means "God's Wisdom or the Higher Power" and Ki which is "life force energy". So Reiki is actually "spiritually guided life force energy."

Reiki treats the whole person including body, emotions, mind and spirit creating many beneficial effects that include relaxation and feelings of peace, security and wellbeing. Many have reported miraculous results.

Reiki is a simple, natural and safe method of spiritual healing and self-improvement that everyone can use.

As a reiki 3, advanced level practitioner, I am able to hold a healing space and also give you some tools in the form of a healing attunement to continue your practice after you leave the session.

Please note that I now no longer offer stand alone reiki treatments. These form part of a yoga session if stated, or if required in a 1 to 1 setting.
