Join us for a workshop which is all about the Fire element - associated with early and mid summer.
In traditional Chinese medicine (TCM) summertime is a powerful energetic phase tied to the Fire Element, the Heart and Small Intestine. In TCM our emotional and physical bodies are deeply influenced by the world around us, therefore understanding how to live in harmony with the season can support our physical and emotional health.
Qigong is considered one of the 5 limbs of TCM, a gentle yet powerful practice to optimise the flow of Qi (pr CHEE) in the body. In this workshop you will learn some forms, acupressure points, breath and meditation to help support the organs of the fire element (heart and small intestine), and understand that as we are all unique, the focus is on what a form (movement/posture) feels like rather than what it looks like.
Coorie Down is a 90 minute class which incorporates gentle movement followed by ground based restorative yoga postures - deeply supported by the use of props. There is an option of a micro head massage or reiki with a curated essential oil blend in keeping with the season. Sometimes chanting or yoga nidra is added - no 2 sessions are ever the same! Designed to enhance relaxation, this event is very popular!
Here are my longer offerings. Expect breathwork, meditation, chanting, some Chinese medicine nuggets and some philosophy relevant to the physical practice. All levels welcome!
